-Expected to be based on the Pulsar NS200 platform
-Might be powered by either an iteration of the KTM 390 Duke’s engine or Dominar 400’s
-Launch on 3 May
Bajaj is all set to launch its biggest, most powerful Pulsar yet. The company has rolled out teasers of the upcoming Pulsar NS400 on its social media platforms in the run up to the official launch of the bike on 3 May.
The teaser highlights the Pulsar NS400’s speed, alluding to its near 400cc engine, the biggest displacement engine to ever grace a Bajaj Pulsar. Speculation is that Bajaj could either fit a returned version of new KTM 390 Duke’s or the Dominar 400’s engine in the Pulsar NS200. We can expect to see the peak power on the other side of 40bhp and the peak torque around 35Nm to 37Nm. The engine will be paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The Pulsar NS400 is likely to use the NS200’s perimeter frame, that’ll be suspended by a USD fork and preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties should be taken care of by a 320mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. The bike will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels, the design of which looks similar to the one on the NS200.
As for the styling, expect Bajaj to come up with a Pulsar NS400 that looks muscular, with large body panels to aid the road presence of the bike. Also expect to see colours and graphics that have not been seen on other Pulsars yet.
Coming to the features, expect Bajaj to go all out with the new, flagship Pulsar NS400. We could see all-LED lights, dual-channel ABS with modes and a digital display with Bluetooth connectivity.
Bajaj is known to price the Pulsar range quite competitively and we expect to see the same in the case of the NS400. Expect its price tag to hover between the Rs 2-2.3 lakh range.
