Upcoming big bike launches of 2019

The year 2019 looks to be an exciting one for motorcycle enthusiasts as manufacturers have a lot in store for the booming Indian two-wheeler market. From street nakeds to scramblers to fully-faired supersport machines, there is something for every kind of motorcyclist out there. Here’s the list of the upcoming big bikes that will make it to Indian shores in 2019.

Triumph Scrambler 1200

The Scrambler 1200 is an all-new offering from Triumph, packed with proper off-road capabilities. Featuring a scrambler styling as the name suggests, the motorcycle features a 1200cc parallel-twin motor mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It comes with four riding modes that can be chosen depending on the road surface. Modern features apart from the standard tech include LED lights for all lamps and a full-colour TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth function. For cycle parts, the Scrambler 1200 gets Ohlins suspension units at both ends paired with a set of Brembo brakes.

Benelli TRK 502

Benelli will be launching the highly anticipated TRK 502 in India on 18 February. The motorcycle will be offered in two variants – the TRK 502 and TRK 502X. While the former gets a touring setup, the latter is an adventure bike for the off-roading junkies. Both variants will be powered by the same motor, a 500cc parallel-twin engine producing 47bhp and 45Nm of torque. The motorcycle will feature 50mm upside down front forks and adjustable rear monoshock while braking is taken care of by 320mm twin discs up front and a 260mm rear disc along with the dual-channel ABS.

Triumph Speed Twin

The Speed Twin is a new British modern-classic from Triumph that is set for launch sometime early 2019 and will sit above the Street Twin sold in India. It will be powered by a 1200cc, parallel-twin engine sourced from the Thruxton R, with a revised clutch and magnesium cam and will be capable of producing 96bhp and 112Nm of torque. Equipment-wise, the Speed Twin gets a circular full-LED headlamp, twin-pod instrument cluster, ABS, switchable traction control system and three ride modes- Road, Rain and Sport. The motorcycle will offer a comfortable yet slightly aggressive riding position due to the rear set foot pegs and upright handlebar.

KTM 790 Duke

After creating a stir in the Supersport class with the previous edition, the BMW S1000RR is back and it has got only better. In terms of design, the asymmetrical headlamps have been replaced with full-LED units while the overall styling has been revised with a more compact design. The new 2019 S1000RR features a new 999cc, in-line four-cylinder motor that produces 205bhp and 113Nm. The engine features BMW’s ShiftCam technology which varies valve timing and lift. While the overall styling remains the same, the motorcycle will receive a redesigned seat, instrument cluster, wheels and side panels. The 900cc parallel-twin has been retuned and now churns out 64bhp; thant's a 10bhp hike over the previous model. However, torque figure remains the same at 80Nm.
