We thought 2023 was filled with several motorcycle launches, but 2024 also aims to keep us on our toes with its own set of new launches. While there will be updates and refreshed models, we list all the motorcycles expected to be introduced in India throughout this year.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber
Royal Enfield is expected to offer quite a few motorcycles in 2024, including the Classic 350 Bobber. The motorcycle has been spied a couple of times and looks interesting. Based on the standard Classic 350, the Bobber comes with different riding ergonomics thanks to the taller handlebar and forward set pegs. It also comes with floating pillion seat, white wall tyres and added chrome elements that add character.
However, everything else is expected to be the same as the Classic 350- from the 349cc engine to the hardware and features too. With these changes though, the Bobber is expected to cost more than the standard version.
With the new 390 Duke and 250 Duke launched in India, it won’t be long before the 125 Duke makes its way here. It gets the same aggressive styling as its other siblings but with a smaller engine underneath. This motor is based on the same unit as the 250 Duke and will offer close to 15bhp. As for features, it will get inverted forks, LCD display and dual-channel ABS as well. That said, with all these updates, the 125 Duke is also expected to get a slight increase in pricing from the current Rs 1.79 lakh tag.
Now, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has already been showcased at the Motoverse 2023 and we have ridden the motorcycle too. However, the motorcycle is yet to be launched in India. Based on the Super Meteor 650, the Shotgun is a bobber-styled version of the same. It comes with bar-end mirrors, and a single-piece seat with the option of adding/removing the pillion seat. Powering the motorcycle is a 648cc, parallel-twin engine that offers 46.4bhp and 52.3Nm.
Another interesting launch would be the Hunter 450 that has also been spotted on test. With a design similar to the current bike, the Guerrilla 450 (could also be called Hunter 450) is a streetfighter-styled motorcycle. It will come powered by the same 452cc motor as the Himalayan 450 and share a few components with the Himalayan too. This will put Royal Enfield in direct contention with bikes like the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G310 R and the TVS Apache RTR 310.
Now, in terms of features, the Roadster 450 is expected to get the same set of features as the Himalayan 450 without the switchable ABS and the circular TFT screen. Instead, the motorcycle could get an instrument cluster suited for the Roadster’s streetfighter styling.
Husqvarna 401
Husqvarna has been under the radar since it launched its 250 twins in the country. Now, it has been spied testing on numerous occasions and is likely to be launched in India sometime this year. It will come with a slightly retuned version of thew new 390 Duke’s 398cc engine. The spy images also reveal that it would get a slightly more aggressive styling although in line with the existing model. And just like the Husqvarna 250s, the 401 is likely to be priced lower than the KTM which costs Rs 3.10 lakh, ex-showroom.
BSA Goldstar
Classic Legends is all set to launch the BSA brand in the country sometime this year and will commence sales with the Goldstar. Dressed in proper retro attire with a circular headlamp and laden with chrome, the Goldstar is a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 rival. It uses a 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is mated to a five-speed gearbox and churns out 45bhp and 55Nm. As for hardware, the motorcycle uses telescopic forks up front and twin springs at the rear with spoke wheels. Meanwhile, single discs at both ends and ABS are fitted as standard.
Bajaj Pulsar N400
Finally, there is the Bajaj Pulsar N400 that is expected to be launched in the country in 2024. This motorcycle has been in the works for a while now and has been expected to be launched ever since the Dominar 400. So, we can expect it to come with the same 373cc, single-cylinder engine with 39.4bhp and 35Nm. Just like the Dominar, the Pulsar N400 could come with an LCD display with dual-channel ABS and full-LED lighting in its list of features. While the Dominar 400 costs Rs 2.29 lakh, the Pulsar N400 could be priced around Rs 2 lakh, ex-showroom.
