- Production-ready 1250 Custom teased
- To use a retuned version of Pan America 1250’s motor
- Could be launched later this year
Harley-Davidson recently launched the Pan America 1250 adventure-touring bike, and in its promo video, the manufacturer also teased the upcoming 1250 Custom.
Now the Harley-Davidson 1250 Custom was unveiled as a concept a couple of years ago. However, the teaser video showcases what looks like a production-ready model. It does retain the overall design of the concept, which has similarities to the Fat Bob, but with a few revisions. There is added heat protection on the twin, high-mounted exhausts, a larger radiator, round bar-end mirrors, a new brake pedal as well as a Brembo brake caliper at the rear.
Moreover, the teaser video also reveals the Harley-Davidson 1250 Custom’s round instrument cluster and abundance of buttons on the switchgear which suggests the motorcycle could come with a fair bit of technology derived from the Pan America 1250. That said, the 1250 Custom would use the same engine as the adventure-touring bike although with a re-tune to suit its character.
The 1250 Custom is likely to replace the Sportster range in Harley’s line-up which is currently discontinued in Europe and can be sold in the US only till 2021. Hence, we can expect Harley-Davidson to unveil the motorcycle by the end of this year with a possible India launch sometime in 2022.
