Harley-Davidson India has confirmed the launch details of its most-affordable motorcycle, the X440, in our market. This new motorcycle, which has been developed in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, will arrive in the Indian market on 4 July, 2023. Here, we tell you what to expect from the upcoming Harley-Davidson X440 ahead of the India launch.
What styling cues will the new Harley-Davidson X440 carry?
The Indian arm of the American two-wheeler maker recently shared images of this motorcycle, giving an up-close look at the production-ready model. As seen in the images, this upcoming Harley Davidson will draw styling cues from the XR1200. The design will include a round headlight with integrated Harley-Davidson branding, a single-pod instrument cluster, a flat handlebar, a side-slung exhaust, machined alloy wheels, and retro-style round indicators. Further, the fuel tank will feature 3D logos that reveal the full name of this upcoming motorcycle. The official images reveal just one colour option. However, we expect to see more paint options when launched. The newest images also reveal the multifunction switchgear on this motorcycle, and we could see additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity on the Harley-Davidson X440.
What mechanical specifications will the new Harley-Davidson X440 get?
The branding on the fuel tank reveals the name of the motorcycle and hints at the displacement. While the details are limited, the new images reveal an oil and air-cooled, single-cylinder setup. The displacement will most likely be approximately 440cc. Previous images from the brand had indicated a redline of 8,000rpm. Thus, this motor will most likely come with a longer stroke, which could help this motorcycle deliver good low-end and mid-range torque. We expect the output figures to be close to 30bhp and 35Nm.
What hardware will the new Harley-Davidson X440 use?
The images released by Harley-Davidson India give a glimpse at the hardware of this motorcycle. The suspension tasks, for example, will include upside-down front forks and twin rear shocks. The braking setup on both ends comprises disc brakes on both wheels, while the safety net will most likely comprise a dual-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off function. Other features of this product will comprise full-LED lighting and a fully-digital instrument cluster.

As mentioned above, the new Harley-Davidson will be launched in India on 4 July, 2023 at Hero’s technology centre in Jaipur. This motorcycle will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness CB350 in India. Thus, we expect the new X440 to arrive around the Rs. 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
