- Gets a conventional telescopic fork
- Round LED headlight with integrated DRL
- Seems to be riding on a 17-inch inch front-wheel
The Hero Mavrick 440 has been spotted testing just a few weeks before its launch in India. As we’ve said earlier, the Mavrick 440 is Hero MotoCorp's version of the Harley-Davidson X440 that was launched last year. While the Mavrick 440 is based on the same platform as the X440, these new images show the specifics of Hero’s motorcycle.
A closer look at the front end shows a conventional telescopic fork instead of the USD fork that’s seen on the Harley. A Harley-Davidson X440 is seen in the same frame, tailing the Hero, giving us a great side-by-side comparison between the two bikes.
Besides the conventional fork, the Mavrick 440 seems to have a smaller, 17-inch rim at the front instead of the 19-inch wheel on the HD. The other visible difference is the shape of the LED headlight, down to the LED DRLs.
While a majority of the rest of the bike is not visible, one can see a beefy fuel tank, replete with tank extensions that is expected to lend the bike some visual mass. The riding position, meanwhile, is upright and neutral and there seems to be enough space to accommodate a pillion comfortably.
Considering the Hero Mavrick 440 is based on the HD X440, expect it to be powered by the same, 440cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. While this engine in the Harley makes 27bhp and 38Nm, expect Hero to retune this engine to suit the roadster application of the Mavrick 440.
