- Could be the new 125/390 Duke
- Gets redesigned bodywork and rear subframe
- Spotted testing in India a while ago
It’s no secret that KTM has been working on the next generation of the Duke(s). Multiple test mules have made appearances over the past few months and now the latest spy shots come from Spain where the bike was spotted on a test run. Here’s what we know about it.
KTM is set to update its streetfighter models on the cosmetic and mechanical front. The LED headlight on this test mule seems to be tweaked compared to the current version. Even the tank shrouds are larger and appear much sharper thereby giving the bike a sportier look. Not to mention, the rear subframe also seems different and adds to the visual bulk.
We expect KTM to use the same engine as it does in the current generations of the Duke but with slight tweaks and better heat management. The latter has been done for the new RC by the addition of dual radiator fans. Even the six-speed gearbox is expected to remain unchanged. However, the bikes are likely to be equipped with a TFT dash that could feature smartphone connectivity along with the essential readouts.
The test mule seen here is also equipped with USD front forks which could be tweaked and the front brake disc is notably larger. The alloy wheels appear to be the same as the ones used on the updated RC. Rider aids like ABS and traction control are expected on the 390 Duke.
As mentioned above, multiple test mules have been spotted and seem to be closer to the production version. We expect KTM to make an official announcement soon. With all these updates, the Duke series will also likely witness a price bump.
