- New 2021 KTM RC 125 details leaked
- Remains majorly unchanged on the mechanical front
- Official India launch to take place soon
KTM’s smallest fully-faired offering, the RC 125, is likely to be launched in India sometime soon. While KTM fans are waiting for the official announcement, details of the 2021 RC 125 have already leaked through its ARAI document. Going by the details mentioned in the document, there isn’t any major change in the bike over the existing model.
The motorcycle will continue to be powered by a 124.71cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The power output will also remain unaltered at 14.5bhp, coming in at 9,250rpm. However, one small change can be observed in its wheelbase which stands at 1347mm in the upcoming model, making it about 6mm longer than the bike currently on sale.
Nevertheless, the 2021 KTM RC 125 is a major departure in terms of looks. It boasts a styling inspired by the now-discontinued RC8 and KTM’s MotoGP machine, which is the case even with the RC 200 and the RC 390. The Austrian bike maker has toned down the aggression and edginess of its design. We will also see new features being a part of the updated package such as a new instrument cluster and a different lighting setup.
The existing model of the KTM RC 125 is priced at Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom) which will witness a substantial hike with the aforementioned updates. Considering its pricing, body style and purpose, the RC 125 competes against the newly-launched Yamaha YZF R15 V4.
