Bajaj Chetak electric scooter could soon be joined by another product. A heavily camouflaged test mule of a new Bajaj electric scooter was spotted alongside the Chetak somewhere near Pune, India. The spy photograph of this upcoming Bajaj electric scooter was sent to us by our reader, Tushar Pawar. The details about this new electric scooter are limited, although it appears to be noticeably different from the Chetak.
The spy photograph of the new Bajaj electric scooter reveals the left rear quarter of the vehicle. This upcoming product is seen with a split-style saddle and a different pillion grab rail as compared to the Chetak electric. The powertrain, rear suspension, rear fender, and tail section, too, are noticeably different from the Chetak electric scooter. That said, the instrument cluster appears to be similar to the Chetak.
The details, as mentioned above, are limited. However, this new electric scooter could be a premium offering that could sit above the Chetak. Thus, it could get a longer range and higher power output than the existing Bajaj electric scooter. The Chetak, for reference, uses a 3.8kW motor that is fueled by a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The company claims a top speed of 70kmph and a range of 95km (in Eco mode).
