After the Xpulse 200 4V and Xpulse 200T 4V, Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch the four-valve variant of another 200cc motorcycle, the Xtreme 200S. This upcoming motorcycle was spotted ahead of its imminent launch in our market. The spy pictures reveal the visual changes that the Xtreme 200S 4V will receive. Here we explain everything that we know about this motorcycle.
Is the styling of the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V different?
As seen in the spy pictures, the overall design of the upcoming Hero Xtreme 200S 4V will remain similar to the existing, two-valve version. Thus, it will retain a full-fairing, tinted visor, muscular fuel tank, step-up saddle, side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch alloy wheels. While the styling remains unaltered, the upcoming Xtreme 200S 4V will receive new and bolder graphics. The spy photographs have revealed a dual-tone finish to the motorcycle that comprises a combination of yellow and black colours along with new graphics on the fairing and the side and rear panels. Notably, the 2V variant is available in three colours – Pearl Silver White, Panther Black, and Sports Red.
What mechanical specifications will the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V use?
The mechanical specifications on the four-valve version will be similar to the Xpulse 200 4V range that is already available for sale in India. It uses a 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that delivers a maximum output of 18.83bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 17.3Nm at 6,500rpm. This motor will be mated to a five-speed gearbox, and it will arrive with OBD2 compliance and E20 fuel compatibility.
What hardware and features will the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V use?
As seen in the spy pictures, the hardware setup will remain unaltered, and the upcoming Hero Xtreme 200S 4V will use telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock to handle the suspension duties. The anchoring setup will comprise disc brakes on both wheels. Moreover, the 17-inch wheels would come shod in 100/80-section front and 130/70-section rear tubeless tyres. The feature list will remain similar to the 2V version, and this upcoming motorcycle will feature an LED headlight, an LED taillight, bulb-type turn indicators, an LCD instrument cluster, and a single-channel ABS.
When will the new Hero Xtreme 200S 4V arrive in India?
The spy photographs appear to have arrived from a dealer meet, and thus we expect this motorcycle to arrive in our market very soon. The updated model is expected to carry a marginal premium over the existing model. The 2V version is available at Rs. 1,35,360 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, this motorcycle will rival the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer SF and Bajaj Pulsar RS 200. Meanwhile, the company will most likely discontinue the 2V version of the motorcycle in India.
