- Pre-bookings for Ola electric scooter open for Rs 500
- Scooter to be available in at least three variants
- Prices and complete feature list to be revealed soon
Ola Electric will soon introduce its first electric scooter in the Indian market. The company started the pre-bookings for this electric scooter on 15 July, 2021 for a token amount of Rs 500. Now, Ola Electric has announced that its electric scooter has received 1,00,000 reservations within the first 24 hours. Speaking about this positive response, Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO, Ola, said that the unprecedented demand is an indicator of shifting consumer preferences to electric vehicles.
The company is yet to announce the finer details about the upcoming vehicle. However, application documents have revealed that Ola has registered trademarks for Series S, S1 and the S1 Pro tags. Thus, we could see at least three variants of the electric scooter in the Indian market. Spy images have revealed the colour options, and the company will offer the electric scooter in at least three colours – Black, Blue, and Pink.
The feature list will comprise a dual projector headlamp with DRL, an LED taillight, fully digital instrument cluster, external charging port, a hook for carrying luggage, a boot space large enough to hold two half-face helmets, and app-based keyless access. Ola will reveal the complete feature list and price in the coming days. The upcoming Ola Scooter will be made in India at the company’s facility in Tamil Nadu.
