Ola Electric has commenced the pre-bookings for its upcoming electric scooter in the Indian market. The upcoming vehicle has received a good response, with over 1,00,000 interested buyers registered on the company’s website already. The company is yet to reveal the finer details such as the variants, specifications, and prices of the scooters. While we await those details, here we tell you everything that we know about the Ola electric scooter until now.
Design
The Ola Electric scooter, as seen through spy images and promotional images, features a simple yet futuristic design. The front fascia includes a compact twin-pod headlight with an LED DRL ring and apron-mounted sleek LED indicators. The electric scooter also features a body-coloured front fender, curvy side panels, a sleek LED taillight, an external charging point at the back, and a split-style pillion grabrail. The teaser videos of the scooter reveal that it will come with large under-seat storage. While the actual capacity has not been revealed yet, the company claims that it can accommodate two open-face helmets.
Colours
Most official teaser images show the Ola electric scooter in black colour. However, spy photographs have confirmed at least three colour options. These include black, blue, and pink.
Variants
Leaked trademark documents have revealed at least three variants of the Ola electric scooter – S, S1, and S1 Pro. The details about the specifications are not available yet, although each variant could be distinguished through their respective power output and the battery range. The prices, too, would vary depending on the variant.
Hardware
The new Ola electric scooter will use telescopic forks at the front and a single spring at the back to handle the suspension duties. The braking setup would include a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the back. The scooter will ride on alloy wheels that should come wrapped in tubeless tyres.
Expected Price
Ola Electric is yet to announce the price for its upcoming scooter. We expect the electric scooter to arrive close to Rs 1,00,000 mark for the base model. The pre-bookings for the electric scooter are open online for a token amount of Rs 500.
