Royal Enfield is working on new models based on its existing 350cc J-platform. Among the list is the Classic 350-based bobber-style motorcycle that has been spotted on several occasions in the past. We recently spotted the vehicle during its pre-production test runs, and the spy video revealed several details about the motorcycle. What are the styling cues of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber?
The recently spotted test mule of the upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber was seen without any camouflage. Thus, it revealed styling elements on this motorcycle, which comprised an ape hanger handlebar, a round headlight, a rear tyre hugger-mounted numberplate, taillight, and turn indicators, a side-slung exhaust, and wire-spoke wheels. This test mule was also equipped with a pillion setup, although that will most likely be available as an optional extra. Notably, a leaked image of this motorcycle revealed whitewalls for the tyres. However, these were not seen on the test mule. We expect to see whitewalls on the final product.
What mechanical specifications will the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber use?
Since this motorcycle will be based on the Classic 350, we expect to see identical output numbers on the Classic 350 Bobber as well. Thus, this sub-500cc Royal Enfield product could draw 20.2bhp of maximum power and 27Nm of peak torque from its 349cc, air/oil-cooled, long-stroke engine. This motor will be linked to a five-speed gearbox. The Classic 350 delivered a fuel economy of 32kmpl in our internal tests, and we expect a similar number from the Classic 350 Bobber too.
What hardware will the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber use?
The hardware, too, will be similar to the Classic 350, and the bobber-style motorcycle will come equipped with telescopic front forks and twin rear springs to handle the shock absorption tasks. Then, the braking setup will most likely comprise single discs on both wheels. Notably, this bobber-style product will come equipped with an ape hanger handlebar as against the flat unit on the standard Classic 350. The motorcycle will ride on wire-spoke wheels that would be shod in tube-type tyres.
What features will the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber get?
The feature list will be a step up over the standard Classic 350, and this bobber will come equipped with an LED headlight and an LED taillight. The company will most likely offer LED turn indicators via optional accessories. Then, the instrument cluster will likely include a semi-digital console, while the Tripper Navigation System will be sold as an optional extra. The safety net will most probably comprise a dual-channel ABS.
What are the expected prices and launch timeline for the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber?
The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber is expected to arrive towards the end of the current calendar year, and the prices are likely to start from Rs. 2 lakh onwards. In other updates, Royal Enfield will launch the updated Bullet 350 in our market in August this year. Further, the Chennai-based manufacturer also plans to introduce the much-awaited Himalayan 450 in our market very soon.
