Upcoming scooter launches of 2024 – Hero Xoom 160, Xoom 125R, and more

We are just one week into 2024 and the Indian two-wheeler industry is already keeping us on our toes with all the new launches slated for the next 12 months. While we have already listed the commuter bike and big bike launches for 2024, it is now time to have a look at the probable petrol-powered scooters that could debut this year. Here is what we expect to see in 2024.

Hero Xoom 160

The entire world got a glimpse of what could be the first ADV scooter from Hero MotoCorp, the Xoom 160, at the EICMA 2023. The brand showcased an early production version and we know that the Xoom 160 will be a tall, and thorough adventure scooter. It will be powered by a 156cc single-cylinder motor with Hero’s i3s technology. Hero hasn’t revealed the power figures yet. However, the Xoom 160’s hardware will include regular telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Its brakes will comprise a front and rear disc mounted on 14-inch wheels shoed to block-pattern tyres. It will also feature LED illumination, a smart key, an ignition dial, a remote key ignition, and smart find too. The Xoom 160 could be priced at Rs. 1.20 to 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and debut later this year.

Hero Xoom 125R

Apart from the Xoom 160, Hero MotoCorp also displayed the Xoom 125R. The scooter has already been spotted testing in India a couple of times and similar to its 110cc sibling, the upcoming Xoom 125R too looks sharp and youthful. Its bodywork gets loads of cuts and creases all over, making the structure look aerodynamic. The Xoom 125R will get a 125cc engine with a CVT gearbox, full LED illumination, first-in-segment sequential LED indicators, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation.

TVS Jupiter 125 Classic

TVS Jupiter prices increased in India!

TVS offers the 110cc Jupiter in as many as five variants with the Classic being the top-spec mode. It comes with an LED headlight topped by a visor, a premium-looking seat cover and a backrest as well for the pillion. Now, the Jupiter 125 is offered in three variants and the Hosur-based bikemaker could bring a Classic variant for the Jupiter 125 as well. This means the scooter could get visor, more paint schemes and other functional add-ons. If launched, the Jupiter 125 Classic will continue to use the same 124.8cc single-cylinder engine with an output of 8.2bhp of power and 10.5Nm of peak torque.

Updated Vespa

Vespa 125cc Mickey Mouse Edition unveiled!

Vespa has been around for a while now in India with its 125cc and 150cc scooters. Every year, the brand introduces a few new paint schemes or special edition models to refresh the lineup. While the iconic design is here to stay, we think Vespa could bring in cosmetic tweaks this year as well.

Yamaha NMAX 155

After its launch in the Indian market, the Yamaha Aerox has found quite some success here. Even at a hefty asking price of Rs. 1,47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Aerox finds a decent number of buyers. Now, Yamaha India has shown interest in expanding its maxi-scooter lineup here. While the Aerox and N-Max are both 155cc models, the design for the two is different. The Aerox is a sportier-looking scooter whereas the NMax appears butch and slightly taller. Yamaha also has a new launch announcement on 9 January. Here is what it could be.
