The upcoming TVS scooter has been spied again in Bangalore by a BikeAdvice reader. The spied scooter has been doing quite a lot of rounds around the city and has been spied more than two times in the past few weeks. This makes us believe that the scooter is going through final rounds of testing and the TVS logo on the instrument cluster clearly indicates that it is the production version. '
The upcoming TVS scooter is expected to be based on the Wego scooter but will be placed above the Wego. The test scooter features black alloys, drum brakes and basic instrumentation. Also, the fuel lid has been provided on the back of the scooter, just above the tail lamps. This is a very convenient feature, as the rider won’t need to get down and lift the seat to fill petrol.
The instrument cluster looks basic and the trip meter in it has decent amount of kilometers done. This new TVS scooter is expected to be powered by the same 110cc engine which powers the Wego. This engine develops 8PS of power at 7500rpm and 8 Nm of torque at 5500rpm.
Talking about the pricing, the company needs to keep the Honda Activa range in mind when they price it as the scooter segment is dominated by them. The recent addition of the Activa-i is a clear sign from the Japanese manufacture that they are very serious about the scooter segment. So in order to give them a tough competition, the Chennai based manufacturer has to price this scooter very competitively.
