We are already done with eight months of 2023 and a truckload of launches so far. From the Karizma to the TVS X, a lot of two-wheelers have made their debut in India. However, there are some more in store and we’ve covered just that in today’s video. So, let’s take a look at all the two-wheelers that are upcoming in September.
TVS has already teased the upcoming RTR 310 multiple times and we have also come across its spy shots on various occasions. On close observation, there are noticeable differences in the design of both, the teaser bike and the test mule.
For reference, the teaser shows that the RTR 310 has a pointed tail with a fairly small rear seat. It also gets a cylindrical exhaust and the two-piece LED headlights appear to be a little too low. Whereas on the test mule, the rear seat looks quite normally sized and even the exhaust looks very similar to what we see on the faired Apache RR 310. This brings us to the speculation that the final production model could look more like the test bike and that TVS could build a one-off model that seems similar to what we have seen in the RTR 310’s latest teaser.
That said, the naked Apache won’t stray away too much from its faired sibling. So, it’ll get the same engine and hardware, and most likely, the same set of features too. What will differ is the seating posture that could make the Apache RTR 310 not only more comfortable but fairly engaging too.
TVS is likely to offer a fully digital console and smartphone connectivity as well. It would be a cherry on the top if the RTR 310, too, gets the BTO treatment, which includes the adjustable suspension, handlebar, footpegs, and more. But when can we see the Apache RTR 310 hit the Indian market? Well, quite possibly in the next few weeks.
2024 KTM 390 Duke
From one streetfighter to another, we also have the 2024 KTM 390 Duke incoming. It has already been unveiled in the international market, and we expect KTM India to bring it here sometime this month. Right from its design to the power figures, features, rider aids, and even the hardware on the 2024 KTM 390 Duke, it will be all-new.
On the feature front, KTM is offering launch control and ride modes along with the existing features. Moreover, it gets a larger 399cc engine too. But the Triumph Speed 400 has already been equipped with a similar engine that gets the same bore and stroke as the new 390 Duke.
So, the 390 Duke could leverage better low-end power delivery and can be more linear without compromising on the punchy acceleration that it has been known for. And with all these updates, what could be the 2024 KTM 390 Duke’s asking price? Given that the current model costs Rs. 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom), we think the latest 390 Duke with all the bells and whistles could fetch an asking price of around Rs. 3.30 lakh. But let’s wait and watch if KTM has a trick up its sleeve for the pricing.
River Indie e-scooter
The River Indie, too, is finally set to go on sale this month after its unveiling back in February. We had seen some pre-production models back then and expect the final one to retain pretty much all the bits from the scooter seen earlier this year.
River had launched the Indie at Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and it was offered with a 4kWh battery and a 6.7kW motor. This setup was said to give about 120km of total range and 90kmph of top speed. Moreover, a few months ago, the FAME II subsidy was revised and the prices for EVs increased notably after that. So, we expect the same for the River Indie too. That said, the design and hardware are unlikely to be altered, since it makes the scooter look quite quirky and possibly be a stand-out factor too.
