The Yamaha FZ X has been spotted on a number of occasions recently revealing quite a few details each time. So here we compile all that we know about the upcoming Yamaha FZ X so far.
Based on the FZ S V3
Yamaha has built the new FZ X on the existing FZ V3 platform rather than choosing to launch the XSR 155 in the country and there are a couple of reasons for it. Nevertheless, the FZ X gets the same frame, subframe, swingarm, and wheels as the FZ V3, although with different bodywork and styling.
Styling
The FZ X sports a round, full-LED headlamp, slightly different radiator guard, and a brawny fuel tank that comes with a strip in the middle, similar to the XSR 155. Moreover, it also sports a single-piece seat with rolled pattern and a somewhat retro-styled grabrail and tail lamp at the rear. Since Yamaha will be positioning it as a rugged commuter, the FZ X is fitted with fork gaiters and rides on dual-purpose tyres. Going by the spy images we also know that Yamaha will be offering the FZ X in at least three colours- black, blue and orange.
Engine
There is no difference between the FZ X and FZ V3 here. Both motorcycles come with the same 149cc, air-cooled engine that produces 12.2bhp and 13.6Nm. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Features
Now, since the FZ X is based on the FZ S V3, we can expect it to come with the same features as the latter. So, apart from the LED headlamp, it is likely to sport a Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument cluster as well. The FZ X will also undoubtedly be equipped with a single-channel ABS as standard.
Pricing
The Yamaha FZ S Vintage Edition is the top-spec variant and costs Rs 1.11 lakh. So we can expect the FZ X to be priced at a slight premium between Rs 1.15-1.16 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
