Yamaha is gearing up to launch a new motorcycle in India that is likely to be the FZ X. While we await official details, let’s take you through all that we know about the upcoming Yamaha FZ X until now.
Styling
The upcoming Yamaha FZ X has been spotted on a couple of occasions, revealing crucial details. With these spy images, we know that the new FZ X is based on the FZ S V3 that is sold in the country. The two motorcycles share the same frame, subframe, wheels, and swingarm. However, they get different styling to set them apart.
The Yamaha FZ X is likely to be positioned as a slightly rugged, version of the FZ S and gets fork gaiters and rides on dual-purpose tyres. Besides that, the Yamaha FZ X also sports a brawny fuel tank, a different radiator guard, and a circular full-LED headlamp. The bike also comes with a single-piece seat along with a retro-styled grabrail and tail lamp.
Colour options
Going by the leaked images, we know that Yamaha is planning to offer the new FZ X in at least three colours- blue, black and a flashy orange paint scheme.
Engine
The FZ X is likely to be powered by the same engine as the FZ S V3. This 149cc, air-cooled engine produces 12.2bhp and 13.6Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Features
And since the upcoming Yamaha FZ X is based on the FZ S V3, we can expect it to be equipped with the same features. Apart from the LED headlamp, the FZ X is also likely to sport a Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument cluster and single-channel ABS as standard.
Pricing
The most expensive of the Yamaha FZ range is the Yamaha FZ S Vintage Edition that costs Rs 1.11 lakh. We can expect the new FZ X to be offered at a slight premium between Rs 1.15-1.16 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Also read: Why has Yamaha chosen the FZ X over the MT15-based XSR 155 for India?
