Yamaha Motor India recently showcased the upcoming YZF-R3 and MT-03 at an event held in Chennai, ahead of their launch in our market. The two-wheeler manufacturer is yet to reveal a launch timeline for these products. Meanwhile, here we bring you a detailed image gallery of the MT-03.
The Yamaha MT-03 competes in the roadster segment and thus boasts a streetfighter design. This comprises a projector-style headlight with twin LED DRLs, a muscular fuel tank, a body-coloured front fender, split seats, a side-slung exhaust with a brushed aluminium tip, and 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.
The feature list matches the rivals such as the BMW G 310 R, and the Yamaha MT-03 comes equipped with full-LED lighting, a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.
The instrument console displays information such as the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, tachometer, fuel level reading, and gear position indicator.
The mechanical specifications of the MT-03 are identical to the YZF-R3. Thus, this roadster segment uses a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that delivers a maximum output of 42bhp and a peak torque of 29.6Nm. This engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
The hardware on the MT-03 comprises upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock to handle the shock absorption duties.
Then, the braking setup comprises a 298mm front disc and 200mm rear rotor disc, while the safety net, as mentioned earlier, includes a dual-channel ABS.
The new Yamaha MT-03 is expected to arrive in India by the end of calendar year 2023. We expect it to arrive in the price bracket, and it is likely to arrive in the Rs. 3.7 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
