- Likely to be updated Premium variant
- To get new features
- Could have a higher price tag
The Bajaj Chetak is set to get an update in the Indian market with the launch of the Premium variant scheduled for 5 January. The revamped electric scooter has also been spotted at a dealership giving us an idea of what to expect.
The biggest change to the Chetak is to its instrumentation. Gone is the circular screen that has made way for a colour TFT unit. This unit will come with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation as well ride modes. That said, we are yet to know if Bajaj will deviate from the 2.9kWh battery pack to a bigger and better performing unit. However, we can be sure of an increase in riding range, just like the Chetak Urbane version.
The spy images suggest that the electric scooter will otherwise be similar to the current model in terms of design and hardware. It will continue with its retro-inspired, curvy design and the same suspension and braking hardware too. With the additional features and changes, we can expect Bajaj to increase the price of the Chetak Premium by a few thousand rupees over the previous Rs 1.20 lakh pricing.
