- Both models could be updated with USD front forks
- Likely to feature dual-channel ABS too
- Could witness a substantial price hike
Bajaj is set to launch the Pulsar NS160 and the NS200 with substantial updates very soon. The brand has teased the same on its official Instagram handles and here’s what we know about the upcoming launch so far.
The safety net on both bikes is set to improve since Bajaj could offer the bikes with dual-channel ABS. Currently, the braking hardware for the NS200 and the NS160 comprises a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc with single-channel ABS. And both bikes also ride on telescopic front forks and a monoshock. But with the new update, Bajaj will employ USD front forks instead of the aforementioned telescopic units.
Apart from that, a new paint scheme could also be offered as shown in the teaser. We expect Bajaj to retain the design, features, and engine configuration. The NS160 is powered by a 160.3cc single-cylinder motor with an output of 17.03 bhp and 14.6Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
On the other hand, the Pulsar NS 200 gets a 199.5cc single-cylinder engine that makes 24.13 bhp and 18.74 Nm. It gets a six-speed gearbox. The NS200 and the NS160 feature the same headlight, fuel tank design, and ergonomics. Even the semi-digital instrument console has been shared on the two NS models.
With the new updates, we expect Bajaj to increase the asking price by a few thousand rupees. As of now, the Pulsar NS160 costs Rs. 1,25,114 and the Pulsar NS200 is priced at Rs. 1,40,666 (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
