- Likely to get Bluetooth connectivity as standard
- Could benefit from a small bump in the power
- Retains the styling and other bits
Hero MotoCorp could be working on an update for the Xtreme 160R as its test mule has been recently spotted. The bike was updated with a new trim known as the Stealth Edition which features Bluetooth connectivity. So, let’s see what we can expect from the upcoming model.
The test mule seems to have retained the youthful styling from the current model on sale. It’s equipped with the same fuel tank and could retain the current Xtreme 160R’s fascia housing the LED headlight. The instrument cluster on the test bike appears unaltered and the overall bodywork as well.
The 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R is equipped with a 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 14.9bhp and 14Nm. It’s mated to a five-speed gearbox. You can expect a small bump in the power if Hero updates the bike with a four-valve setup. The Stealth Edition features Bluetooth connectivity with the Hero Connect smartphone application. It gives you access to tow-away alerts, geo-fence alerts, parked locations, trip analyses, vehicle start alerts, live tracking, speed alerts, and topple alerts.
The test bike's suspension setup appears unchanged: telescopic front forks and monoshock. Even the alloys and the tyre setup seem to be carried over from the current bike. Considering the test bike appears largely unchanged, we expect Hero to make an official announcement very soon. You can expect a small price hike for the updated model.
