- Likely to get revised bodywork.
- To get LED lighting and updated instrument cluster.
- Expected to be launched early next year.
The 2019 TVS Wego has been spotted testing. Although wrapped in camouflage, the test mule has revealed a few details about the to-be-launched scooter.
The new Wego’s design is likely to be inspired by the current model, however with a few changes to lend it a fresher appeal. It is likely to get a revised tail section and rear mudguard, a shorter grab rail and different switchgear. While the current model gets an LED tail lamp, we expect TVS to also equip the 2019 Wego with a full-LED headlamp. It could use the same full-digital instrument cluster which displays speed, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, low fuel, low battery and service indicator.
We expect the 2019 TVS Wego to be powered by the same 109cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 7.8bhp and 8Nm of torque. The TVS Wego was launched in 2010 and has got more than a couple of updates ever since. Nonetheless, it is long overdue for a complete makeover.
The scooter is likely to be launched sometime next year with a slight increase in price over the current version which retails at Rs 55,194 and Rs 58, 336 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the drum and disc variants respectively. It will compete against the Honda Activa 5G and Hero Maestro Edge.
