Piaggio has added a new variant to the Vespa range called the Vespa 125 Urban Club. The scooter is priced at Rs 73,732 (ex-showroom, Delhi);which is around the same price as the Vespa Notte, that it is based on.
While the Vespa Notte is only available in a matte black colour, the Vespa Urban Club is offered in four colour schemes- red, blue, grey and yellow. However components like the mirror, grab rail, brake levers and wheels on the Vespa Urban Cub are finished in black.
Beside the paint schemes, the Vespa 125 Urban Club is similar to the Vespa Notte. It is powered by a 124cc engine that generates 9.5bhp of power and 9.9Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT gearbox. Braking is done by drum brakes for the front and rear with CBS. The Vespa Urban Club rides on 10-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
Bookings for the scooter have already commenced and deliveries will begin in the next couple of weeks. The Vespa 125 Urban Club, is one of the most affordable offering from Vespa in India and with the option of colour schemes, the scooter will be an attractive proposition, literally. In terms of competition, it will compete against the Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125 and the upcoming Hero Maestro Edge 125.
