Piaggio is going to launch a new special edition scooter, called the Vespa Elegante. With a price tag of Rs 95,220 (ex-showroom), this 150cc scooter is expected to go on sale in May.
The Vespa Elegante was first launched in 2014, based on the 125cc VX trim. Now though, Vespa has decided to use the 150cc powertrain for the 2017 model. This engine delivers 11.4bhp and 11.5Nm of torque though a CVT transmission. We can expect it to ride on 11-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. It will also get a slew of accessories like a perimeter guard and a luggage rack. A front disc brake will also be offered as standard. Adhering to the government norms, the Vespa Elegante will be BS IV compliant and will also get auto headlamp on (AHO) feature.
The Vespa 70th Anniversary Edition is no longer on sale, and the Elegante will be a replacement for the special edition scooter. Select Vespa dealers have started accepting bookings for the scooter for a token amount of Rs 5,000. It will be available in pearl white and brown paint schemes.
