- Piaggio extends original equipment warranty and free service schedule ending during the lockdown
- Vespa and Aprilia customers can avail these benefits up to 30 days after the lockdown lifts
Similar to various other two-wheeler manufacturers, Piaggio has also come forward for its customers whose two-wheeler warranty and free service schedule will lapse during this lockdown. The company has announced a 30-day extension post the lockdown on warranty and free service schedule for all Vespa and Aprilia customers in India.
Now, all the customers owning a Vespa or Aprilia model with its original equipment warranty or free service schedule ending during the lockdown period, will be able to avail the benefits up to 30 days after the lockdown lifts. While the last date of the lockdown is currently set on 3 May, it might be extended in select cities.
Besides providing such benefits to its customers, Piaggio India has also been extending a helping hand to the government in its fight to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The company is providing food and shelter to around 1000 migrant workers near its manufacturing plant in Baramati.
The company has also teamed up with the local hospitals in Baramati in helping them setup an isolation ward for the Coronavirus patients. Furthermore, Piaggio has helped Sassoon Government Hospital in Pune by providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for its healthcare professionals and installed sanitisation units.
