Piaggio India has announced that select Vespa and Aprilia dealerships have recommenced operations. The company stated in its press announcements that Vespa and Aprilia dealerships are now open in Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Mangalore, Bijapur, Davangere, Shimoga and Udupi.
The dealerships received necessary permissions from local authorities before restarting operations. The dealership staff is taking measures to ensure health and safety. The showrooms and workshops, for example, are completely sanitised in accordance with the guidelines for maximum safety of the employees and customers.
The teams are following social distancing protocols including contactless greeting, wearing protective gear and using hand sanitizers. The company is also accepting pre-bookings for a service appointment to avoid crowding at the dealership.
Speaking about resuming the operations at the dealerships, Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio India said that the company has been working together with its dealers in navigating through the new reality. Piaggio India had previously announced the extension of original equipment warranty and free service expires in lockdown period, and the dealerships are prepared to address all vehicle sales and service requirements.
Apart from the dealerships, Piaggio India has also resumed manufacturing operations at its Baramati plant for the supply of the iconic Vespa and sporty Aprilia scooters.
