Piaggio India has updated its website with the specifications of the BS6-compliant Vespa Elegante 149. The latest iteration of the retro-scooter should arrive very soon. While the launch details are yet to be revealed, here we list everything that you can expect to see on the Elegante 149 BS6.
Engine
The latest iteration of the Elegante will come with a relatively lower displacement engine than its BS4 version. The new Elegante 149 will use a 149cc, single-cylinder motor that will produce 10.2bhp of power at 7,600rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The Elegante 150 (BS4), in comparison, used a 154.8cc motor that produced 11.4bhp of power and 11.5Nm of torque.
Design
The Elegante 149 will retain the styling cues of its predecessor. Thus, the scooter will continue to feature a round headlight and rear-view mirrors. The Elegante 149 will also come equipped with a tinted visor at the front. Chrome highlight visible on the front fender, around the headlight and the rear-view mirrors enhances the retro-styling of the Elegante 149. The scooter will most likely be offered in the same colour options – Bianco Perla and Beige Unico – as its predecessor.
Cycle Parts
Similar to the styling cues, the cycle parts, too, will be retained from the BS4 model. Thus, the anchoring department will use a 220mm disc brake at the front and a 140mm drum unit at the back while the safety net will include a single-channel ABS. The shock absorption duties will be handled by Hydraulic double-telescopic fork at the front and a hydraulic suspension at the back. The scooter rides on 11-inch front/10-inch rear wheels.
Price
Piaggio India has updated its website with the prices of all models, although the ex-showroom tag for the Elegante 149 is yet to be announced. However, dealer sources have already revealed the prices, and the Elegante 149 will retail for Rs 1,32,918 (ex-showroom Delhi).
