Vespa, the legendary Italian scooter brand under the Piaggio Group has returned to the Philippines market. The company opened its showroom in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
During the opening ceremony, Vespa Scooters Philippines (VSP) showcased their line-up including the Primavera and Sprint, both inspired by the historic 946 model. Vespa said that the Primavera is a highly modern scooter of the brand designed with the “elegance of an exclusive style” without compromising comfort. The Italian motorcycle company added that the Primavera inherits the refined nature of the Vespa 946.
The Primavera is fitted with LED lights, chrome handlebar and a pointed tail. The scooter sits on 11-inch alloy wheels and comes with a two seat saddle. The engine of the Primavera is a 150cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with a 3-valve single overhead cam. It also comes with a CVT that is said to reduce engine rotations when shifting gears.
Its sporty twin is the Sprint, the design language of which is inspired from the historic line of Vespino models. It features a square headlight and design language to match its sporty character. The mechanicals are identical to the Primavera. The Primavera and Sprint are priced at PhP 160,000 (Rs 2.3 lakh) and PhP 180,000 (Rs 2.6 lakh).
Piaggio is currently only offering these two models, but promised to add more models to their line-up soon. The showroom also offers accessories for the scooters, as well as lifestyle products and apparel.
