The Vespa S was showcased at the recently concluded Auto Expo. It was seen sharing the stage with other Vespa models including the most premium 946. Paggio, the parent company of this scooter maker has hinted to launch the Vespa S few months ago, but the exact dates were not disclosed. However, few pictures of the Vespa S displayed at a showroom has surfaced the web indicating that a launch nearing by.
Mechanically, the Vespa S is similar to the Vespa LX125 and the VX125. It gets the 125cc single cylinder engine that produces 10bhp at 7,500rpm and maximum torque of 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm. This engine is mated to continuous variable transmission. It gets front disc brake as standard, which is a very good safety feature for riders. The instrument console is redesigned with sports blacked out theme.
The only changes that help this scooter standout from the other two Italian products, is the angular design, rectangular headlight and the aggressive mudguard design that makes the front suspension visible. It sports the S125 badging on the side and the Vespa S badge at the rear and square rear view mirrors.
Just like the other Vespa’s, the Vespa S is expected to be offered with four lively colour shades – Red, White ,Orange and Matte Black. We are expecting the Vespa S to be priced between Rs 75,000 and Rs 78,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai) and expect the launch to happen in the next few weeks.
