Vespa recently showcased the GTS 300 at the India Bike Week 2015 in Vagator, Goa. Powered by a 278cc engine, the GTS 300 is currently the most powerful Vespa on sale.
Like the other Vespa scooters, the GTS 300 features a perfect blend of vintage style and modern technologies. It features round chrome-rimmed headlamp and classic body lines which resemble the old-school European scooters from 1950s.
The Vespa GTS 300 also gets the punch to match its looks, courtesy a 278cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine. This liquid-cooled fuel-injected unit is rated at 21.1bhp and 22.3Nm of torque, and is mated to a CVT transmission. The GTS 300 rides on 12-inch wheels, both of which get a 220mm disc brake for good stopping power. It also gets a traction control system and ABS.
Though reports have indicated that the Italian scooter manufacturer is planning to introduce the GTS 300 soon, the company has so far denied the rumours. The GTS 300 is priced at USD 6,599 (Rs 4.10 lakh) in the US market and in case the company does decide to launch it here, the GTS 300 will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU).
