Piaggio India has announced the prices for its new Vespa scooters, the SXL 149 and the VXL 149. The SXL 149 is priced at Rs 1,26,650 while the VXL 149 will be sold for Rs 1,22,664 (both ex-showroom Delhi prices).
Regular readers would have read our previous report where we explained why Piaggio has rebranded the Vespa 150cc line-up in India and tagged them as SXL 149 and the VXL 149.
Both, the SXL 149 and the VXL 149 use a BS6-compliant 149cc, single-cylinder engine that features Variable Spark Timing Management and three catalytic convertors. The motor is tuned to produce 10.2bhp of power at 7,600rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
The SXL 149 and the VXL 149 feature a retro styling. The SXL series gets a boxy headlight while the VXL range uses a round-shaped unit. The SXL 149 is available in six colour options – White, Matt Red Dragon, Matt Black, Orange, Azzurre Blue and Matt Yellow. The VXL 149 is offered in five paint options – Yellow, White, Red, Matte Black and Azzurre Provenza.
The cycle parts on both models include a 200mm disc at the front, 140mm drum at the back, single side-arm front suspension, hydraulic rear shock absorber and a single-channel ABS.
