Vespa will launch the 946 Emporio Armani edition and a special edition scooter commemorating the 70th anniversary of the brand tomorrow.
The Vespa 946 is the flagship model in Vespa’s lineup, pegged as a style statement rather than an everyday ride. While the standard 946 in itself is a swanky scooter, the Emporio Armani is a decked up version designed by Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani, which further increases its appeal and exclusivity. Featuring a matte black paint scheme, leather seat and accessories, the 946 Emporio Armani is powered by a 125cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine delivering 12bhp and 10Nm of torque. Vespa will also be celebrating its 70th anniversary with the launch of a special edition scooter based on the SXL. Featuring special edition badges and unique paint schemes, this model is expected to be rolled out in limited numbers.
The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani will be imported to India as completely built unit (CBU), which means it will attract heavy custom duties. With a price tag between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 12 lakh, the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani will undoubtedly be one of the most exclusive scooters that you can buy in India. The 70th anniversary limited edition scooter on the other hand is expected to sport a relatively sensible price tag between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1 lakh.
