- Vespa VXL 125, SXL 125 BS6 facelift launched
- Prices start at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune)
- Get new features like an LED headlamp and USB charger
Piaggio India has launched the BS6-compliant facelifted versions of the Vespa VXL 125 and SXL 125 scooters in India. While the former has been priced at Rs 1,10,373, the latter costs Rs 1,14,204 (both prices are ex-showroom, Pune).
The new BS6 facelifted models demand a hefty premium over their BS4 counterparts which is unjustifiable given the minimal updates they have received. As it is necessary for compliance with the new emission norms, the 125cc, three-valve engine of the scooters now gets fuel-injection. It churns out 9.7bhp and 9.6Nm and comes mated to a CVT gearbox. On the feature front, new elements include LED headlamp with LED DRLs, USB charger and a boot light.
The old-school Italian styling of the Vespa VXL 125 and SXL 125 BS6 remain the same while the sturdy metal body panels have also been retained, which is one of the USPs of Vespa models. Similarly, the hardware package of the scooters has also remained unaltered. They are based on a monocoque chassis and ride on 11-10-inch wheel combination. Suspension duties are handled by a single-sided hydraulic arm up front and a monoshock at the rear. A disc-drum combo takes care of braking.
The Vespa VXL 125 and SXL 125 BS6 facelift can be booked online or through their authorised dealerships at Rs 1,000. The company is also offering online benefits worth Rs 2,000.
