Kannan K’s superior performance helped him take two wins in the TVS RTR Apache 200 one-make championship's second round at Madras Motor Race Track.
According to reports, in Race 1, Kannan took and kept control from start to finish taking a win over Vivek Pillai by a huge lead of 5.297s in the six lap race on Saturday. Kannan was also the only rider to set a track record time below the 2 minutes 10 second mark. Arvind Ganesh took third after the third placed starter Prashanth Kumar retired in the first lap.
For the third spot on the podium, Ganesh managed to out race fourth placed Hari Prakash, who gained three places from seventh on the grid.
In Race 2 of the Open category of the RTR 200 one-make championship, Kannan dominated again. However, it was much closer than Race 1 with just 0.957s separating him from Pillai who took second. Kannan did lose his spot a few times but managed to pull back to first. Moreover, Ganesh and Prakash also fought for third but Ganesh took the spot by just 0.030s of a difference.
In the Novice category of the Apache championship, Race 1 saw Yuvaraj S winning with Yashas RL taking second and Kamran Alam taking third. In Race 2 in Novice, Yashas took the win from Aditya Rao Immaneni while Alam completed the podium in third position.
