The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 promise not only to deliver good engine performance and engaging riding experience, but they are also on the affordable side of the spectrum.
Now, choosing one between the Pulsar NS200 and Apache RTR 200 4V might be a confusing decision to make given their similar streetfighter-like styling, 200cc displacement and nearly the same pricing. But worry not, we are here to make the buying process easier for you by comparing both the bikes on all fronts.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is the more feature-rich among the two with features like fully adjustable suspension, riding modes, LED headlamps, and slipper clutch. On the other hand, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has been long in the tooth, with basic features by today’s standards. It features a semi-digital instrument cluster, halogen headlamps and single-channel ABS. The Apache RTR 200 4V gets an option of dual-channel ABS.
In terms of mechanicals, the Pulsar NS200 has a clear advantage over the Apache, despite being a 9-year old model. The 199.5cc motor gets liquid-cooling and makes 24.13bhp of power and 18.5Nm of peak torque. It also gets a six-speed gearbox. The Apache RTR 200 4V produces 20.5 bhp and 17.25Nm from its 197.75cc oil-cooled motor, which is coupled to a five-speed gearbox.
As far as pricing is concerned, TVS has nailed it with the Apache RTR 200 4V, which starts at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the single-channel ABS version and goes up to Rs 1.34 lakh for the top-spec version with riding modes. The Pulsar NS200, on the other hand, is pricier amongst the two, which costs Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom), despite being older and having fewer features.
