- Electric Himalayan under development
- Gets a big battery pack
- Expected to unveil in 2026
Royal Enfield is working on a series of interesting electric motorcycles and the Himalayan is one of them.
According to our sources, an electric adventure motorcycle will be one of the first EVs to come from Royal Enfield. The company wants to take a top-down approach when it comes to electric vehicles. Here, the brand would introduce an expensive bike first that will help them not just showcase their new technology and design, but also help them create a new perception of Royal Enfield among the masses.
An electric Himalayan makes perfect sense for this strategy as it is an adventure motorcycle, and it needs to have a good range. This means, Royal Enfield needs to pack it with large batteries and that will increase the overall cost of the bike. This route helps them position the electric Himalayan as a premium product.
From this picture, it is clear that the green Himalayan will look like a true adventure motorcycle. The fascia resembles the current Himalayan. The rest of the design is still in the design phase but it does look interesting. Royal Enfield is looking to make the frame a part of the body. A large battery pack can also be seen, with an external charge indicator. Interestingly, the company has managed to get a good ground clearance even with that battery pack. A lot of fancy and practical features are also expected to be part of this bike.
We are expecting the electric Himalayan to make its world debut in 2025-2026 as a concept. The final production model is expected to take two-three years more and come with an extremely hefty price tag.
