Indian round of the World Superbike Championship that was scheduled to take place on November 17 at Buddh International Circuit later this year has been cancelled. This is the second blow to Indian motorsport enthusiast in span of few days. First one when earlier this month Formula 1 boss Ecclestone announced that the 2014 Indian GP will be replaced by Russia.
Operational challenges have been cited as the major reason for this grant event cancellation. The debut WSBK India was earlier scheduled for March 10 but was postponed to November 17 as there was insufficient time to train the marshals and the medical staffs for the race.
But somewhere we feel that the Indian government is playing a major role in cancellation of these kinds of international events in the country. I wonder when we will hear something like this happening to Indian Premier League. Never right?
