- Folds smaller than an A3 size sheet of paper
- Marketed at $425 which converts to about Rs 30,000
- Weighs just 13kg with 180W motor capable of achieving a top speed of 18kmph
A brand widely recognized for smartphones, Xiaomi has brought in something quirky and cute that would make you want to own it, just for fun, if nothing. This is the Himo H1 e-cycle, an extremely compact foldable electric cycle, priced at $425, which converts to about Rs 30,000 in India.
The main highlight of the e-cycle is that when folded, its dimensions are smaller than an A3 size sheet of paper. No joke! The frame, handlebar, tyres and the seat are foldable and once fully closed, you can simply plonk the e-cycle into the passenger seat of your car or even into a backpack! And if you were wondering about its weight, it stands at 13kg which is certainly not a lot. The company claims that each component of the Himo H1 comes with locking mechanisms that ensures a secured lock. If you are already contemplating about the payload capacity of the e-cycle, it is rated to carry weight up to 75kg, which is again, not bad at all.
While Xiaomi hasn’t divulged many details about the e-cycle, what we can tell you is this quirky piece of machinery gets a 180W hub-mounted motor that is capable of delivering a top speed of 18kmph. It packs a 6Ah lithium-ion battery with a charge time of 4-6 hours and a claimed range of around 30km.
With all that, what you get is an LED headlamp, HD waterproof digital instrumentation displaying the headlamp switch status, battery status and speed.
Now, Xiaomi has no plans of officially launching the Himo H1 folding e-cycle in the US or even India for that matter. However, if you are very keen on purchasing one, you can order it through the company’s e-commerce website, but be ready to shell out extra for taxes and duties over the retail price.
