Yamaha is set to change how Indians perceive scooters with the launch of the new Aerox 155 in India. This maxi cum sport scooter offers is an incredible package for those who want a unique twist-and-go ride. Following a favourable response from the Indian buyers since its launch, Yamaha recently widened its colour palette and the Aerox 155 is available in four different colours now.
Starting with the newest paint scheme, the new Metallic Black sports black colour on most of its body panels along with a white shade for its front fender and the X-shaped panel at the centre. There are subtle grey graphics too in certain areas like the front apron and rear panel. The Aerox is also available in a Grey Vermillion colour scheme for those who want something understated. Meanwhile, the Racing Blue variant is quite the opposite with generous use of vibrant blue shade on most of its panels. Lastly, one can also opt for the more exotic and stealth MotoGP edition with the funky Monster Energy graphics.
The main highlight of the Aerox is its R15-sourced engine. This 155cc engine gets variable valve actuation and liquid-cooling that was unheard of in a scooter in India. What’s more, it produces 14.79bhp and 13.9Nm, making it the second most powerful scooter on sale after the BMW C 400 GT. It rides on large 14-inch wheels with telescopic forks and dual springs which bestow it with sharp and engaging handling. Furthermore, it’s also practical with features like an external fuel lid, a 24.5-litre boot, and a USB charger.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) and competes against the Aprilia SR 160 and SXR 160.
