- Gets visual theme inspired by Yamaha’s MotoGP bike
- Monster Energy decals on various components
- Rs 2,000 dearer than the standard version
India Yamaha Motor unveiled the MotoGP edition of the Aerox 155 in August 2022 in India. After a month now, the company has announced the price of the scooter. It’s pegged at Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it Rs 2,000 more expensive than the standard trim of the Aerox 155.
What you get for that additional premium is a colour scheme inspired by Yamaha’s Monster Energy MotoGP M1 race machine. Featuring an all-black theme, this version of the Aerox sports Monster Energy decals on the visor, front apron, front mudguard, side panels, and rear panels. Well, that’s where the changes over the standard trim end and all the other aspects of the scooter remain unchanged.
It is powered by a VVA-equipped, 155cc, liquid-cooled engine that’s a derivative of the R15 V4’s mill. In the Aerox, it churns out 14.79bhp and 13.9Nm and comes mated to a CVT transmission system. It rides on 14-inch wheels at both ends that are suspended by telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Stopping power, meanwhile, comes from a disc-drum combination accompanied by a single-channel ABS. Furthermore, there are a host of useful features like large 24.5-litre under-seat storage, a front pocket with an optional USB charger, an external fuel lid, and a Bluetooth-enabled LCD screen.
In India, the Yamaha Aerox 155 competes against the likes of the Aprilia SR 160, Aprilia SXR 160, and the Vespa SXL 150.
