- Yamaha Force 2.0 launched in Taiwan
- Gets a 155cc engine with VVA
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha has launched the Force 2.0 in Taiwan with a price tag that is equivalent to Rs 2.66 lakh. This maxi-scooter is based on the Aerox 155 that was recently launched in India at Rs 1.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
Now, as part of the update, Yamaha has revised the scooter quite a bit. The styling, for example, is much sharper and the twin headlamps are sleeker just like the tail lamp that is now a simpler, straight line, unlike the previous angular unit.
Underneath the frame is the 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine like the Aerox 155. It comes with the VVA technology and churns out 15bhp and 13.9Nm- similar to the India-spec Aerox 155. The engine is new to the Yamaha Force 2.0 and is housed in a new chassis that is said to be 27 per cent lighter.
Yamaha has also made revisions to the suspension hardware as the Force 2.0 comes with twin shocks with preload adjustability, unlike the previous monoshock. This new frame has also tweaked the dimensions, bringing down the wheelbase by 65mm. Moreover, Yamaha has also added a flat seat that has raised the seat height from 805mm to 815mm on the Force 2.0
In terms of features, the Yamaha Force 2.0 comes with dual-channel ABS and a 5.1-inch LCD cluster that does not get a connectivity option. Nevertheless, since we already have the Aerox 155 in India, Yamaha is unlikely to launch the Force 2.0 in the country anytime soon.
