Yamaha India added another variant to the Aerox line in the form of the Version S. It packs more features than the standard model and we recently spent some time riding it. Here are our thoughts on the Aerox Version S.
On the design front, the Aerox Version S looks identical to the standard model. It dons a muscular cladding all over with a signature twin LED headlight, X-shaped spine, and single-seat setup.
However, it gets the Version S sticker which sets it apart from the base Aerox trim. As you see here, we received the Aerox Version S in a blue colour which is also reminiscent of bigger Yamaha motorcycles.
The most significant change with Version S is the key fob and the rotary knob to operate the Aerox. Yamaha has equipped the scooter with a smart key which means you don’t need to take the fob out of your pocket to turn the scooter on.
Even the Yamaha Aerox S uses the same trusty 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine and it makes 15bhp and 13.9Nm. Moreover, the motor is now E20 compliant.
Aerox’s engine is derived from its sporty sibling, the R15, and is just as smooth. We have adored it since its inception and still like its real-world performance.
Once you start accelerating, the revs climb quickly but smoothly. The only time we experienced a buzz was once the revs were near redline, but it was nothing bothersome.
The Aerox 155‘s ride quality was something that not a lot of riders liked. It felt stiff and had a kick-back when riding at high speeds. But it appears that the rear springs have now been tweaked and respond in a much gentler way.
But what about its build quality, braking, comfort, features, and overall value for money? Should you spend Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) on the Yamaha Aerox Version S? Read our first ride review to know the answer.
