- Updated SYM Jet 14 Evo debuts in Europe
- Gets design changes and new features
- Unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon
While SYM may not be a familiar name when it comes to scooters in India, the brand is one of the biggest retailers of the practicality-focused mode of two-wheelers in the European market. The brand’s latest model is the Jet 14 Evo which looks to take on other maxi-scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155.
Unveiled as an update to the Jet 14, the Jet 14 Evo continues to ride on 14-inch wheels. However, it has received major updates on the styling front and the scooter now looks sharper than before. It even gets twin full-LED lights and DRLs as well as a windscreen. Even the rear section and seats have undergone a makeover. That said, SYM has also worked on the features of the Jet 14 Evo maxi-scooter by throwing in a USB 3.0 port, an LCD screen and a keyless start. The fuel filler cap has also moved from under the seat, which now gets added storage, to the front apron.
As for the hardware, the Jet 14 Evo sports disc brakes at both ends with ABS as standard. Meanwhile, suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and a pair of preload-adjustable twin shocks. Now, the Jet 14 Evo is an interesting rival to the Aerox 155 and the Aprilia SXR 160 that is available in India. However, it is unlikely to make its way here anytime soon.
