Yamaha Alpha was launched in Nepal last month for NPR 169,900 (Rs 1.05 lakh). Now, MAW Enterprises, the sole authorised distributor of Yamaha two-wheelers in Nepal, has exhibited the scooter at the 2014 Nepal Auto Show.
The Yamaha Alpha was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi and then launched in India. Based on the concept of “easy to go and high utility city mover”, the two-wheeler boasts of front telescopic suspension and an upright type suspension at the rear. It features a flat, long and comfortable seat and a storage space of 21 litres that can easily accommodate half-face helmets.
The Alpha is powered by an air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine with CVT (Continuous variable transmission). According to Yamaha, the Alpha delivers a fuel efficiency of 62kmpl.
Yamaha, with the help of MAW Enterprises, has put the Alpha on sale in Nepal while offering two years of warranty and eight services. As part of the introduction of the new scooter, the Yamaha showrooms in Nepal offered test rides and instant gifts to prospective buyers. Currently, the Yamaha Ray, Ray-Z and the Alpha are on sale in the country. The company thinks that the market for scooters is increasing significantly in Nepal and Yamaha has always been in the forefront in introducing the latest products to cater to the demands and expectations of consumers.
