Yamaha has begun taking bookings for the 2017 R1Ms. The Japanese manufacturer is now accepting bookings of its litre-class bike through an online booking website.
This is the link to the online ordering system. Once you’re on the website, you need to select the country and complete the process. Yamaha will close the bookings on February 28. The 2015 and the 2016 versions got sold out pretty quickly, so it won’t be a surprise if the 2017 versions find their owners soon. The customers who buy the 2017 R1M will get an invite to attend Yamaha’s ride experience school, which covers track tuitions and also teaches them on how to setup the R1M. These sessions are conducted throughout the world.
For the 2017 models, Yamaha has increased the price by £650 (Rs 54,000) to £19399 (Rs 15.91 lakh). So expect the Indian prices to increase significantly from Rs 29.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the 2017 models. Interestingly, three R1Ms were sold in India since its official launch. For a motorcycle that costs close to Rs 30 lakh, this number isn’t bad. Its slower sibling and more affordable sibling, the R1 found eight customers in India.
