While the Fazer and FZ premium commuters continue to enjoy a consistent demand, their scooter range has set the cash registers ringing for Yamaha. Despite Yamaha mainly targeting the scooter at the youth, the Fascino has caught the fancy of a wide range of audience. Yamaha has been marketing the Fascino as a lifestyle vehicle, which makes it a direct rival to the Vespa. However, Yamaha’s pricing strategy seems to have worked in its favour. Even the Yamaha Ray ZR has hit the right chord with the Indian audience. Taking into account the popularity of this scooter, dealers have now stopped stocking the older Ray Z model and are pushing customers to opt for the newer Ray ZR.
The approaching festive season coupled with good monsoon has brought in a ray of hope for two-wheeler manufacturers.
