Yamaha has just launched the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid in the Indian market. The retro-styled scooter is available in three variants: Standard, Deluxe and Hybrid. The hybrid variant is further subdivided into drum and disc variants. The Hybrid drum is priced at Rs 71,673, while the Hybrid Disc variant is priced at Rs 78,479 ex-showroom (Mumbai). The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid gets a sleek and retro design. The drum variant here is offered in a total of seven colour options like Red, Yellow, Blue, Matte Blue, Metallic Blue, Black and Suave Copper. In addition to these seven colours, the disc variant gets two more colours like Matte Black and Red with black inserts. These colours are offered with chrome/gloss black inserts around the headlamp, mirrors and all across its body.
The retro-styled scooter is offered with features like an LED headlamp, daytime running LED, V-shaped LED taillight, fully digital instrument cluster, silent start feature, idle start-stop feature, maintenance-free battery, side stand engine cut off, unified braking system and 21-litre under-seat storage.
The Fascino 125 Fi hybrid draws power from a 125cc air-cooled engine. The smart motor-generator (SMG) charges the battery and along with the engine churns out 8bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.3Nm at 5,500rpm. This engine produces 0.6Nm more torque compared to its predecessor. The company also claims that the driving force at the rear wheel at low speeds has been improved by thirty percent and the fuel economy has gone up by sixteen percent compared to the earlier 113cc motor.
The ride here is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and a unit swingarm suspension at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs a 190mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear for the Disc variant, while it uses a 130mm drum on both ends for the Drum variant.
The scooter mounts a 12-inch wheel at the front, while it uses a 10-inch wheel at the rear. These wheels are wrapped in tyres having 90mm width at the front and 110mm width at the rear. The seat height here is kept at 780mm while the scooter weighs 99kg.
