India Yamaha Motor has announced the launch of the updated Fascino 125 in our market. The latest iteration of the 125cc scooter, christened as the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, is available in two variants with prices starting from Rs 70,000 onwards. Design and Features
The new Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid retains the retro design of its predecessor. Thus, the styling cues retain a curvy design, apron-mounted front turn indicators, body-coloured front fender, a step-up seat, 21-litre under-seat storage, and a single-piece pillion grab rail. Common features on both variants include a side-stand engine cut-off function, automatic start/stop tech, and the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system. The SMG tech on the latest model functions as an electric motor to give a power assist when accelerating from a stop.
The premium (disc) variant of the scooter further benefits from features such as a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster, an LED headlight, an LED DRL, and an LED taillight. The Bluetooth function works with the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application.
Colours
The new Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid is available in a total of nine colour options. The drum brake variant of the scoter is available in Vivid Red, Cool Blue Metallic, Yellow Cocktail, Dark Matte Blue, Suave Copper, Cyan Blue, and Metallic Black. The disc version, on the other hand, is available in Vivid Red Special, Matte Black Special, Cool Blue Metallic, Dark Matte Blue, Suave Copper, Yellow Cocktail, Cyan Blue, Vivid Red, and Metallic Black.
Engine
The scooter uses a BS6-compliant, 125cc, air-cooled engine that makes 8bhp of maximum power at 6,500rpm and 10.3Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. Yamaha claims 30 per cent more power and 16 per cent better fuel economy as compared to the 113cc variant of the scooter.
Hardware
The suspension setup on the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid includes telescopic front forks and a single rear spring. The anchoring tasks on the base variant are handled by drum brakes on both wheels while the premium version benefits from a 190mm disc at the front.
Variants and Price
The new Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid is available in two variants – Drum and Disc. The drum brake version of the scooter is available at Rs 70,000 while the disc variant, which gets more features than the standard model, has been priced at Rs 76,530 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
