-Priced at 56,793; a Rs 1,500 hike in price
-Gets new colour and graphics along with a maintenance-free battery
-No other cosmetic or mechanical changes
Yamaha has launched the Fascino Darknight Edition in India with a price tag of Rs 56,793 (ex-showroom, Delhi); a premium of Rs 1,500 over the standard variant.
The Fascino Darknight Edition gets a new matte black paint scheme along with sporty graphics in tune with Yamaha’s ‘Call of the Blue’ campaign. Apart from this cosmetic upgrade, the Fascino Darknight Edition also gets a maintenance-free battery. However, it continues to get a brown seat along with chrome touches on the mirrors, on the side panels and front fairing. The Fascino Darknight Edition uses the same 113cc motor that powers the standard Fascino. This unit produces 7bhp and 8.1Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT gearbox.
While suspension is looked after by telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear, braking is done by drum brakes on both ends with a CBS unit. However, Yamaha does not offer the Fascino with disc brakes even as an option. The Fascino is Yamaha’s highest-selling scooter in India aimed at the youth. With the introduction of this new paint scheme, the manufacturer hopes to evoke a sporty appeal and rake in more numbers. In terms of competition, the Yamaha Fascino Darknight Edition goes head on with the Honda Dio, TVS Jupiter and Hero Maestro Edge in the country.
